Block A1, AB Communication, Ateneo de Manila University
Look how nene we look!
Guess where I spent the whole Thursday morning?
Aside from the quite expected swaying tree leaves, the cool and soothing morning breeze and later, the scorching heat, I was greeted by sweet smiles and hello’s by the kuyas and ates the moment I stepped foot on the grounds of my alma mater.
I did not expect the good energy I got from going around campus, visiting some professors/mentors, and seeing both new and old, familiar faces (and halls- talking about FABER HALL!!!!) Returning to my second home was bittersweet, I must say.
I realized today that I miss my college days. I miss hearing the bell ring, which was more of a threat to me than anything else, hahaha. I miss enjoying breaktime with blockmates, I miss CADs training, pretty much everything!
What a nice way to have started my day.
A year and a half after
..I visited what used to be my second home.
After a string of excruciating nights, I decided to postpone my brunch date today with my blockmate Sab at Mom and Tina’s Katipunan and headed to my dentist. Had my teeth checked ‘cos I was feeling painful throbbing since Thursday night and it was becoming unbearable. It’s tough having an embarrassingly low tolerance for tooth pain, really! I can withstand a deep cut or an intense dysmenorrhea, but never a tooth ache. I was one of those kids who dreaded dentist visits and not even a piece of candy (usually placed in a bowl at the reception counter) made it any better. :P
Anyway, thankfully, I was luckily squeezed in to my dentist’s Saturday morning schedule. Mom called around 9am and my appointment was set at 930am. I had a full thirty minutes to fix up- did everything double time! Left the house at 918 (sigh) and still was able to make it to her clinic at a quarter past 930. Thank you Lord for less traffic to weave through! I was done by 1030 and I was meditating whether or not I should stop at a cafe or restaurant to grab a bite before I go to Ateneo to pick up my sister after her Accounting class. But I thought..why not just wait there at eat at the cafeteria??? Kinda anticipated a nice stroll in Ateneo, too, so I went straight to Katipunan.
I was driving my sister’s car, which had an Ateneo sticker so I had the privilege to park near Xavier Hall, which was time-saving! I remember how it inconvenienced me, then, for lack of parking space!!! There was a time when I had to stall for a good 20 minutes before I found a slot. Ahhhck.
So anyway… I walked around school for a bit, feeling a little displaced and alien- especially since I knew nobody. I felt OLDDDDDD. Huhu, it was annoyingly hot so I just stayed at the caf. Ohh, brought back memories. I saw so many familiar faces of the kuya’s and manang’s. I felt good seeing them!!
This morning cracked up the nostalgia and I missed school so much. Oh, Ateneo.

At the caf with my English blockmates. It looked the same 4 years ago, except for new food stalls, of course.
